| Exocin is an eye-drop used to treat external eye infections such as some types of conjunctivitis. Exocin belongs to a group of medicines called 4-quinolone antibacterial agents. Exocin is not recommended for use in infants below the age of one year.It is indicated in urinary tract infections, infections of the lower respiratory tract, skin and soft tissues, urethral and cervical gonorrhea, non-gonococcal urethritis (inflammation of the urethra), and cervicitis (inflammation of the cervix). |

Side Effects, Gastrointestinal disturbances, skin reactions, CNS (nervous system) disturbances are some of its side effects. Hypersensitivity reactions, suicidal thoughts and behavior, peripheral neuropathy (nerve damage outside the brain), tendinitis (inflammation of tendons), and tendon rupture are also reported. When Not To Use, This drug is contraindicated in epilepsy (a disorder of brain with abnormal brain activity causing seizures) or lowered seizure threshold. It is also not indicated for growing adolescents and patients with a history of tendinitis (inflammation of tendons). Precaution, Immediately discontinue treatment if CNS adverse effects occur, including psychiatric adverse reactions, or blood glucose disturbances occur and switch to a non fluoroquinolone antibiotic if possible. Precaution, Discontinue the drug immediately and avoid use of systemic fluoroquinolones in patients who experience any serious adverse reactions. Pregnancy, Please consult your doctor when taking this medicine if you are pregnant. |
